Sample Gear List

 

            With all the equipment, clothes, etc. that we must bring to a triathlon, it’s very easy to forget something without a checklist.  So to hopefully make it easier for you all, I have compiled a generic version of what I use when I pack for races.  Since long course and ultra distance races tend to require more gear than short course races, I have put in bold those items necessary for both short course and long course.  Those items not in bold are probably only necessary for long course or ultra distance racing.  I also roughly the items according to when and where they are needed.

            You can take this checklist and modify it to suit your specific needs.  Go through and check off each item as you pack, and check through it again when you arrive at the race destination.  Granted you will receive a few of these items, such as your race number, when you get to the race venue.
